DAR Lake Oswego members, Joleen Sharp and Nancy Myers, are putting together a book on Vietnam Veterans who were on active duty any time between November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975. They did not have to have served in the war. They did not have to be from this area.

 

In 2012 the Dept. Of Defense put together the Vietnam Commemoration in honor of the 50th anniversary of the war. They reached out around the country for towns, cities, and organizations to join the Commemoration and thank the Vietnam Veterans in your community. DAR Lake Oswego chapter joined in 2014. The Commemoration will end on Veterans Day of 2025. This book is a way to say thank you to these veterans who did not receive the welcome home they should have.

 

They are looking for GIG Members to honor their Vietnam Veterans! Use the form available on our GIG Google Drive in Microsoft Word or Google Docs format to fill out with the information you need on each veteran. Download the form to edit and change name to include your Vietnam Veteran. Fill free to submit as many veterans as you would like. There are further instructions inside the document.
